problems playing video, avi, mpeg-2, and more
I've found that if an avi will not play properly for me with WMP or realplayer, the VLC media player almost always does the job.
There are versions for windows, mac, linux, etc. It's free!
This player can play avi, wmv, mpeg-2, quicktime, dvd's, .bin cd files, .dat files. With it you can capture frames from any video that you can play.
Get it here! - (they are already up to 0.8.6c)

When I try and download this I just get a blank screen.
then it says if it wont download 'click here' then nothing happens again.

I have a problem with playing .wmv files!
I have VLC player, and lately it does not play the majority of wmv files corretly. Avi, Mpeg, mov are fine, but with wmv files, it breaks and stops and does not play them.
Anyone has a solution? Thanks.

Have you tried downloading the latest update for VLC? Can't say that will solve the problem, but I haven't been having problems with .wmv clips.
Then again, it would be like Microsoft to configure .wmv files so that they will only play in Windows Media Player. Anyone else having similar issues?
